Request: Vray Ocean Shader WIP Overview First of all, sorry for the rush through and casual video, I didn’t really have time to prepare. I have had a fair bit of interest in my Vray Ocean Shader which is very much still a WIP. So I thought I would post this video to show you what I have going on so far. Enjoy! Hey all,
Been a bit slow on the tutorials lately, so I have posted some freebies here for you to download:
http://community.hitfilm.com/index.php?/topic/2456-freebies-clouds-smoke-fire-and-explosions/
Contents:
Cloud and Smoke Textures
While researching volumetric cloud creation techniques, I rendered out a bunch of cloud and smoke images. They have varying pattern types, densities and shapes. These can be used in Hitfilm, After Effects and Nuke for particle textures and also in any of your favourite 3d Applications as sprites. Rendered at 1K Square then cropped down to the edges, the resolutions vary but are all decent quality. 24 individual cloud and smoke textures in .PNG format with embedded alpha.
As a bonus, I have also created a Photoshop brush collection from these images. Perfect for painting clouds and smoke!

Fire Stock Footage
This clip is 25 seconds long, so would work great for long shots. Works best on a dark background, but play around with blending modes and color correction to achieve the desired result. 25 seconds at 24FPS .MOV file with PNG compression and embedded alpha channel. Rendered at 1920x1080 and cropped to the needed area.
Explosion Stock Footage
This clip is 4 seconds long and is a very simple burst explosion with smoke. Works best on a dark background, but play around with the blending modes and color correction to achieve the desired result. 4 seconds at 24FPS .MOV file with PNG compression and embedded alpha channel. Rendered at 1920x1080 and cropped to the needed area.
